A very impressive wine but without the "WOW" factor that was so evident when Sparky Marquis was winemaker. Opaque black crimson colour. Superb lifted nose of confectionary, blackberry and liquorice with the American oak making its presence felt early. On the palate flavours of ripe plum, blackberry and vanilla followed by a liquorice, blackpepper back palate. Excellent length and depth. Fine grained tannins followed by a very long aftertaste of plum, vanilla and liquorice.
Cellar 3-4 years. (2005-2006)
