Winemaker Sergio Carlei has created an unusual blend which consists of 85% Shiraz, 5% Nebbiolo and 10% Marzemino. Low yielding vines were cropped at one tonne per acre.Very deep, brick red colour with crimson hue. Aroma of spice, earth and leather followed by a hint of mint and blackberry. The palate has excellent weight and mouth feel with flavours of earth and mint over a very spicy black pepper background. Excellent balance with fine tannin structure followed by an aftertaste which displays a hint of ‘animal’ over earth and spice. Cellar 3-4 years. (2005-2006) Alc./Vol. 13.5%RATING: 89/100 VALUE: XXX/5
