All six of the 'Classic Malts' have released limited edition 'Distiller's editions', which are finished in special casks selected by the master distiller at each distillery. Dalwhinnie's are finished in Oloroso casks, Glenkinchie in Amontillado, Cragganmore in Port, Oban in Montilla, Talisker in Amoroso sherry, and Lagavulin in Pedro Ximénez sherry. Talisker, which combines the island style of distinctive peatiness with it own individual notes of spice and pepper, has accented its character by finishing in sweet Jerez Amoroso cask wood, amplifying Taliskers sweetness and rounding out its rugged peaty character.
Bottled in 2009 and matured in American oak casks followed by a further period in Jerez Amoroso Sherry casks.
