Tasted: 29/03/00: The Semillon component for this wine is sourced from a tiny 6 acre vineyard at Jan Juc south of Geelong, while the Sauvignon Blanc component comes from Jan Juc and Strathbogie. Bright pale straw colour. Herbal, vegetal nose with some confectionery overlays, followed by a tropical fruit and unripe gooseberry end note, an unusual aroma profile for an Australian blend from these varietals, and in many ways it's closer to Entre deux Mers in style. On the palate some dusty Sauvignon Blanc flavours appear a with a dash of pencil shavings in the background. Clean crisp finish with vegetal herbaceous aftertaste. Cellar 2-3 years.Retasted 15/04/00: The second tasting of this wine was more impressive than the first. Bright pale, off watery colour. Graves like aroma, with grassy confectionery notes, followed by a delicate herbaceous background. Again subtle herbaceous grassy flavours, clean crisp finish, with grassy herbaceous aftertaste. A well made commercial wine.
