A very well made commercial wine. John Ellis has always displayed a skill for blending the unusual, and this blend of Chardonnay and Colombard was first developed for the UK market, at a time when the price of Chardonnay grapes was high, but the Supermarket buyers wanted a wine that would retail under the two pound ninety nine mark. The cheaper Colombard varietal came to the rescue. Bright, pale straw colour. Lifted aroma of fresh peach, melon, spice, citrus and a touch of cinnamon. Impressive palate weight, fruit driven flavours with ripe peach, tropical fruit and melon dominant. Clean, straightforward style. Enjoy now.
