TASTED: 24 Nov 1998 |
The traditional Wirra Wirra blend. Made from 50% Cabernet 30% Shiraz and 20% Merlot, and aged in French oak barriques for 12 months. Deep crimson colour. Pronounced, youthful nose - quite lifted with aromas of spice and inky young Shiraz dominant, followed by some blackcurrant. The palate structure is relatively light - and slightly firm, with black pepper being quite pronounced on the back palate. Fine, yet firm tannins, long youthful inky, peppery aftertaste. Cellar 3-5 years.
