Made from 50 year old vines, the wine shows great promise on colour, but fails to deliver Heathcote flavour. Full bodied crimson mauve colour. Appealing nose, minty, violets and confectionary aromas. The minty character of the nose carries through onto the palate and integrates with plum, vanilla and confectionary flavours. Fine grained tannins, but rather simple structure and indifferent intensity and concentration. Plum, spice aftertaste. Cellar 3-4 years.
