Tasting notes sourced from Jasper Hill Vineyard.Don't be daunted by the high alcohol level of the 1997 Jasper Hill reds - Ron Laughton's main criteria is still flavour not alcohol. For the 1997 vintage the full Shiraz flavour did not arrive until the sugar levels were relatively high, thus resulting in the higher alcohol levels. Both the Georgia's Paddock and Emily's Paddock are similar to previous vintages of these wines and display no signs of heat or sweetness sometimes associated with high alcohol wines. Overall a very low yielding vintage, but excellent in terms of quality.Deep magenta colour. Both the nose and palate display aromas and flavours of sweet briary red berries and spice. Will be another great Georgia's given time - although it is approachable now. 15.5% Alcohol Volume.
