Opaque crimson purple colour. The nose displays aromas of confectionary, spice, vanilla and ripe plum with a slightly porty finish and an earthy end note. The palate has generous weight, but weight alone is not enough to carry the flavours through. Lots of ripe plum and chocolate flavours combine with a pronounced porty flavour and hot alcohol finish. The tannins are balanced and fine, but take the wine flavour nowhere. One gets good weight and fantastic colour, however, the flavour components seem to have missed out. Cellar 2-3 years.
