A new value priced offering from the Sons of Eden team which pays tribute to David Marschall who was not only responsible for planting many treasured old vine vineyards throughout the Barossa but was also a revered martial artist, actor and demolition expert. This wine is a blend of Shiraz parcels from various blocks from three Marschall vineyards in the Tanunda and Ebenezer districts. The Tanunda vineyard provides intense aromatic lift while the Ebenezer vineyards provide a denser fruit core and richness. Maturation took place in a mixture of new and seasoned French and American oak for a period of 18 months.

A Rich and Powerful, yet very Classy Barossa Shiraz

Totally opaque black dark purple colour with a very deep dark purple hue. The nose displays an almost perfumed bouquet of dark ripe plums, blackberries and liquorice over some smoky vanillin oak and spice. Full bodied and lusciously textured but far from heavy the palate delivers a flavour profile that combines richness and finesse with dark plums, ripe blackberries and liquorice flooding the palate under pinned by some smoked meat characters, vanillin cedar and spice. Excellent power and persistence with relatively solid but velvet like tannins. Long aftertaste of dark plums, ripe blackberries, liquorice, smoked meats and spicy pepper.
Cellar 5-6 years.
Alc 14.5%
