2013 Ryder Watervale Riesling

Great value.

The Clare Valley is just over 100km north of the city of Adelaide and is one of the oldest wine producing regions in Australia. It's become synonymous with outstanding Riesling, often sold at bargain basement prices.

Customers returning from holiday in Germany (the traditional home of Riesling) invariably remind us just how lucky we are to be able to purchase superb Rieslings at a fraction of a price of their European counterparts. This wine is a case in point.

Brilliant pale straw colour with watery hue. The nose shows good intensity with a combination of lime, citrus and orange rind followed by some minerality. Mouth watering flavours of lime and citrus are followed by a touch of talc with underlying minerality and a clean crisp finish. Long lime, citrus and talcy mineral aftertaste.
Drink over the next 2-3 years (2014-2017).
