Located in Tanunda in the Barossa, Linke remains a 5th generation family owned producer. Their two vineyards - the "Stonewell Block" on the western side of the Barossa, and the "Dorrien" which is on the valley floor, consistently produce top notch fruit for renowned labels (including St Hallets and Langmeil, as well as being recognised at Penfolds as a "Top Shelf’ grower). Since 2002, a portion of fruit has been reserved for the family's own label.

Still relatively youthful, the 2013 Linke Shiraz has the potential to be the best yet.

Pours an impenetrable inky black purple colour with a deep dark purple black tinged hue. Nosing reveals intense aromas of liquorice, blackberries and black cherries followed by some subtle vanillin oak and confectionary. Rich and opulent this is Barossa Shiraz at its decadent best featuring lusciously textured flavours of liquorice, black cherries and ripe blackberries over some vanillin cedar with a spicy peppered finish. Good fresh acidity and velvet smooth tannins. Excellent depth with a long persistent aftertaste of liquorice, black cherries, vanillin confectionary and blackpepper.
