2012 Woodlands Margaret Cabernets

A blend of 74% Cabernet Sauvignon, 14% Merlot and 12% Malbec that was matured in French oak for 18 months. Opaque black dark crimson colour with a dark crimson red hue. Scented aromas of ripe blackcurrants are interwoven with dark mulberries and very subtle bay leaf followed by cedar, earth and spice. Medium to full bodied the palate is both elegant and refined whilst still possessing good fruit richness. Savoury flavours of blackcurrant, dark cherries and mulberries are to the fore with underlying cedar, faint bay leaf and spice. Perfectly integrated velvety tannins provide the underlying structure and a supple mouthfeel. Excellent length with a long aftertaste of blackcurrant, dark cherries, mulberry, cedary tobacco and spice.
