Renato Ratti purchased a vineyard, Marcenasco near the village of La Morra during the mid sixties and went onto revolutionize Barolo wine through his experimentation with vinification techniques and setting of quality standards in the appellation.

Semi translucent dark red colour with a tinge of black on the edges and a dark crimson red hue. Aromas of dark cherries and ripe black raspberries are intermixed with some tarry characters followed by hints of liquorice, new leather and spice. Light to medium weight the palate possesses plenty of generosity with rich fruity flavours of ripe dark cherries, subtle liquorice and black raspberry over some subtle new leather with a spicy dry finish. Vibrant acidity with solid, slightly chewy tannins all in balance. Delicious long aftertaste of ripe dark cherries, black raspberries, chewy leather and spice.
