2012 Long Gully Estate Cheery Giant Pinot Noir
This delicious entry level Pinot Noir was matured in French oak barriques, of which 16% was new, for a period of 9 months. Semi translucent bright dark red colour with dark crimson red hue. The nose exhibits scents of ripe dark cherries, some anise, light toasty oak and spice. Light weight the palate has no shortage of fruit delivering generous dark ripe cherry and dark plum flavours followed by some underlying toasty anise and spice. Supple mouthfeel and very savoury with soft velvet smooth tannins. Good power wave with medium to long ripe dark cherry, anise and spice aftertaste.
Great drinking over the next 2-3 years (2013-2016).
