A Near Perfect Marriage of Power, Richness and Structure

Totally impenetrable midnight black colour with a very deep dark purple black hue. The nose appears to be a little reserved upon first sniff but as the wine sits in the glass it blossoms into perfumed scents of ripe blackberries, liquorice and black cherries over some smoky vanillin cedar and spice. Extravagant and densely concentrated the palate is bursting with richness delivering powerful voluptuous fruit flavours of liquorice, blackberry and black cherry smartly packaged into a structured mouth feel. Background nuances of dark chocolate and very spicy vanillin oak follow. Solid sturdily constructed tannins act as perfect foil to buffer the huge core of powerful fruit. Outstanding depth and persistence with a very long aftertaste of blackberry, liquorice, subtlety toasted vanillin oak and spice.
Cellar 6-8 years.
Alc 16%
