'Valle Secreto' are a small producer with 36 Ha of low cropping vines (mostly Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz and Carmenere) They’re committed to producing wines from varieties which “express their potential with the local climate and special characteristic of the soil they are in.” Not that the Chileans don’t believe some places are better than others to grow grapes.

‘A Carmenere of Outstanding richness and concentration.’

'Alto Cachapoal' is located in the newly designated (although still voluntary) Andes geographic zone and is warmer and drier than the coastal regions, and has greater diurnal temperature variation than vineyards on the wide valley floor. This lends itself to Shiraz in the elegant, pepper spectrum and Cabernet akin to Barossa Valley styles from leaner years.

Totally opaque black crimson red colour with very deep dark crimson red hue. Showing excellent intensity the nose delivers an expressive aromatic profile of blackcurrant and
subtle black cherry infused with some tobacco, cigar box like characters, cedar and spice. Rich blackcurrant, blackberry and black cherry flavours swamp the palate with some underlying tobacco, cedar and spice. Velvet smooth well integrated tannin structure. Long ripe blackcurrant, black cherry, cedary tobacco and spice aftertaste.
Cellar 4-5 years (2018-2019).
Alc 14.5%
