The Caliterra label has become one of Chile’s more famous wine brands since its inception in 1996. It started as a partnership between the fifth generation family of Eduardo Chadwick of Vina Errazuriz and Californian wine legend, Robert Mondavi. We're pleased to have secured a follow up shipment of this Chilean super quaffer since the first instalment sold out apace.

This Carmenere represents great value for money and it’s little surprise that it took out the title of the best Carmenere in Chile at the Annual Wines of Chile Awards.

A blend of 91% Carmenere, 3% Syrah and 6% Cabernet Franc that was matured in a combination of French and American oak for 12 months of which 20% was new oak. Opaque inky black crimson colour with youthful bright dark crimson red hue. The nose features good perfumed lift with scents of blackcurrant, violets and tobacco followed by some cedar and spice. Medium to full bodied with abundant richness the palate boasts flavours of perfectly ripened blackcurrants and a touch of liquorice over some cedary tobacco like qualities with a dry spicy back palate. Very fine grained structured tannins provide an excellent framework. Long spicy blackcurrant and cedary tobacco aftertaste.
Cellar 4-5 years (2018-2019).
Alc 14.5%
