Andrew Seppelt developed his winemaking skills by working with some of the worlds top winemakers. In the USA he spent a vintage with Myron Redford at Amity Vineyards in Oregon. Upon returning to Australia he refined his skills by working with Stuart Blackwell of St Hallett, Robert O’Callaghan of Rockford and Trevor Jones at Kellemeister. In 2000 he extended his winemaking experience with a stint at Chateau de Roquefort in Provence. Seppelt considers that the wines of Murray Street are constantly evolving, with the final outcome dependant upon the growing season that was experienced prior to vintage. However, the blending concepts remain constant each year – rich generous wines with regional and varietal characters.

Matured for 18 months in a combination of new and old French and American oak. Totally opaque black purple colour with dark purple black hue. The nose displays good intensity with liquorice and blackberry top notes followed by some subtle mocha, vanillin confectionary and spice. Full bodied the palate possesses plenty of richness with mouthfilling flavours of liquorice and dark plum followed by some subtle vanillin oak, confectionary and blackpepper. Velvet smooth tannins. Superb length with very long liquorice, dark ripe plum, vanillin confectionary and blackpepper aftertaste.
