2010 Maxwell Ellen Street Shiraz

The powerfully styled rich chocolaty McLaren Vale Shiraz was matured in American oak barrels for 24 months. Totally opaque black red colour with a deep dark crimson red black tinged hue. Lifted aromas of liquorice, dark chocolate and ripe blackcurrant are overlaid by some vanillin oak and mocha like characters with spice end notes. Full bodied and texturally rich the palate boasts a soft plush mouthfeel with voluptuous flavours of dark chocolate, liquorice and ripe blackberries flooding the palate followed by some spicy vanillin oak and mocha. Velvet smooth tannins only enhance the wines suppleness. Excellent depth with long liquorice, dark chocolate, spicy vanillin oak and mocha aftertaste.
