The 2008 Octavius has been repackaged with a new sleek black label. The fruit was sourced from the Barossa Valley (59%) and the Eden Valley (41%) with maturation taking place in a complex oak matrix made up of 30% new French and American octaves and 24% French barriques & hogsheads, American hogsheads and Hungarian hogsheads with the balance in older barrels for a period of 20 months.

‘An Octavius of superb fruit purity, richness and power.’

Totally opaque inky black dark crimson core with a deep very dark crimson black tinged hue. The nose shows excellent intensity with pronounced aromas of ripe blackberries, liquorice and dark chocolate over some confectionary and spicy vanillin oak. Full bodied with an opulently textured mouthfeel the palate is packed with lavish rich fruit flavours of ripe blackberries and liquorice followed by dark plum, dark chocolate, confectionary and spicy vanillin oak. Plush silky smooth tannins. Powerful imposing finish with very long ripe blackberry, liquorice, dark plum, confectionary and spicy vanillin oak aftertaste.
