2008 Olivia Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon

Matured for two years in new Troncais oak this wine is a joint venture between Olivia Newton John and winemaker Gavin Hogg. Opaque black dark red colour with very dark red black tinged hue. Ripe blackcurrant aromas are intermixed with some dark plum and dark chocolate followed by some cedary earth like characters and spice. Quite full bodied and rich the palate has flavours of dark blackcurrant and dark choc mint followed by some subtle stewed plum like characters and spicy cedar. There are some signs that the palate is beginning to dry out on the finish. Dryish, solid and slightly chewy tannins. Aftertaste of ripe blackcurrant, choc mint and spicy cedar.
Drink over the next 2-3 years.
