Despite tasting five consecutive releases of this wine, we're still not certain as to how the name 'The Bogan' fits. (For our international customers, a 'Bogan' is an Aussie stereotype describing someone who gets around in fluffy slippers and whose main concerns are 'watchin' tele, smokin' 'n drinking beer' in between working on the car and 'slappin' the pokies'). If this wine is anything to go by, then the Bogan's probably not such a bad bloke to have around!

A giant of a wine produced from vines planted in 1899 and 1965

A giant of a wine produced from vines planted in 1899 and 1965 and matured for 15 months in French and American oak. Opaque black purple colour with black purple hue, showing excellent cling to the glass. Perfumed nose of violet followed by blackberry, spice and liquorice allsorts. The palate displays excellent weight with spice and black pepper flavours supported by fine dry perfectly balanced tannins. Very long aftertaste of black pepper and liquorice allsorts.
