The Isabel Vineyard was established in 1982 by aeroplane pilot Michael Tiller and his wife Robyn. Five clones of Sauvignon Blanc were selected, including UCD 1, UCD 2, BDX 316, BDX 317 and 5385. A Sauvignon Blanc with pronounced varietal character. Bright, straw colour with pale straw hue – just a touch deep for an early release Sauvignon Blanc. The nose has unmistakable varietal lift, with strong notes of ripe gooseberry and tropical fruit emerging. The palate has both weight and depth of flavour. Ripe gooseberry followed by a hint of citrus and passionfruit. Crisp acid backbone. Very long aftertaste of ripe and unripe gooseberry, passionfruit and citrus.
