Outstanding colour, denser than the Clarendon Vineyard Grenache. Black purple crimson colour with purple mauve hue. The nose is quite intense, showing strong perfumed notes, with spice and violets evident. The palate has generous ripe raspberry flavours, followed by liquorice, violet infusions and spice. Excellent length, with the spice evolving. White pepper and spice back palate followed by fine dry tannins, finer and drier than the Clarendon. White pepper and spice aftertaste.

Robert Parker's Review
The elegant, deep ruby/purple-hued 2003 Grenache Old Vines Hickinbotham Vineyard exhibits notes of raspberries, strawberries, and cherries along with hints of fig and charcoal. It possesses more density than the Clarendon Vineyard cuvee.
