Retasted 09/5/2015: Totally opaque impenetrable inky black core with a deep dark red black hue. Perfumed aromas of liquorice, dark chocolate and dark plum waft from the glass over some toasty vanillin oak and spice. Rich and opulently fruited the palate has the texture of liquid silk delivering mouthfilling flavours of liquorice and blackberries followed by some mocha, vanillin oak and spice. Velvet smooth tannins. Superb depth and power with a very long finish of liquorice, ripe blackberries, subtle dark chocolate, vanillin oak and spice.
