2001 Nepenthe Vineyards Sauvignon Blanc
The Nepenthe Vineyard is located at Lenswood in the Adelaide Hills. Bright straw colour. Restrained yet perfumed nose of exotic fruit, confectionary and spice, followed by a ripe mango and paw paw back palate. Moderate length, clean acid finish, followed by aftertaste of mango, confectionary, spice and paw paw.Cellar 1-2 years (2002-2003).
Retasted: July 2002
The wine is already showing some developed character. Bright pale straw colour. Aroma of spice, mandarin and tropical fruit, followed by a hint of spice and loquot. The palate is drier than the nose suggests, with flavours of semi ripe mandarin emerging over a tropical fruit background. The acidity is fine, but there appears to be a slight dilation of back palate flavours. Aftertaste of tropical fruit and spice.
