1999 E.Guigal Crozes Hermitage

A sophisticated, refined style which ‘fruit bomb’ wine lovers might consider to be a little introspective. Very deep crimson colour with crimson mauve hue. Perfumed nose, with aroma of violets, earth, spice and toasted oak, followed by that Rhone like ‘animal’ quality. The palate flavours are dry, refined and elegant. The violet characteristic of the nose re-emerges, followed by plum, spice and liquorice. Excellent tannin structure, with an aftertaste of earth, plum, spice and liquorice.
