1997 Omaka Springs Sauvignon Blanc
Bright pale straw colour. The nose is uplifted with aromas of green apple, ripe gooseberry and a hint of tropical fruit. The palate is fresh with the acid being quite high, but well supported by the exotic flavour spectrum. Unripe gooseberry, unripe passionfruit and tropical fruit with a hint of lycee and green apple on the back palate. Clean crisp acidity with long unripe gooseberry lycee aftertaste. Cellar 1 - 2 years.
Retasted 13/12/1998: Bright pale straw colour. The nose displays aromas of green tea, spice and confectionary. The palate is generous, with good weight and herbaceous gooseberry flavours, followed by crisp acidity. A mouthfilling generous style, which is already showing some bottle development, and it is capable of a further 2-3 years bottle age. Crisp acid finish.
